Relief!

Okay, we're back to (pseudo)normal again.  Joey has been out this morning and everything is fine again.  He scarfed down that canned food with his meds this morning in about 20 seconds - literally!  And now he's gone back to sleep -- back in his crate since I have to go out and deal with the horses and fill their water tank this morning and I don't want to leave him out of the crate without being there to keep an eye on him.  I did let him sleep in his regular bed last night because I can hear that collar bump into things whenever he moves around so I knew I would hear him if he tried to get up.  But sleeping in his bed, he  managed to stay asleep all night since he was able to move around and turn over without getting his head caught on anything.   Of course each time he shifted in his bed, I woke up, but he was fine!

He'll be going to therapy again on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting tomorrow, so he will only have to be confined to that crate for any length of time for 2 days a week.  And his stitches will probably come out early NEXT week, so maybe he can get away with only 2 more days in there.  And I plan to leave work early those days so he won't have to be in there for more than about 7 hours.  His meds are every 8 hours, so it'll be close, but I think I can manage that.

Whew!   I will be SO glad when Mark gets home next week.

Now don't get me wrong - I'm ALWAYS glad to see Mark come home.  But THIS time it will be an incredible relief!  It's not that there is all that much extra work right now, but it's just so hard to get all this stuff done at an exact time while still fitting all the "normal" stuff in there as well.  Besides - the horses and I miss him!
