Today is the first relatively comfortable day since -- I can't even REMEMBER when! It has been so, so, SO hot for so long. This morning we woke up to 70-degree temperatures on a clear, sunny, absolutely LOVELY day.
I walked out to feed the horses and they were all waiting in their paddocks so I didn't even have to go get them. Very thoughtful of them!
So I got the horses fed in no time, then I went back in and fed Joey and gave him his meds -- easy now. He's figured out how to eat with that cone collar on and he can drink when he likes without me having to get down on the floor with his water bowl now that he has his new giant crate and the water bowl that bolts onto the crate. (Note that he's feeling strong enough these days to "rearrange" his blankets.)
And Rocky enjoys being able to stay with Joey again, too. He is such a sweet boy!

Once I got everyone fed, it was still lovely and almost cool so I decided to go out and groom the horses. When I got out there though, they had all disappeared. I walked out of the barn toward the pasture and I thought I saw Duke standing under the trees out behind the cottage.
I had brought my camera with me since I was planning to photograph them once they were all nice and tidy, so I checked him out through the zoom lens.
It wasn't just Duke! Duke and Lizzie were standing right together leaning on each other while Ladybug was sprawled on the ground next to them, sound asleep. Aaaaw. How nice. So I tiptoed back into the barn and left them alone to enjoy their morning. Maybe we'll take a bath later.
Or maybe not.
It's a lovely day for all of us.
