And the rain continues . . . forget the parades!

The rain did back off for a little while, and the parish came by to unclog the front ditch.
That water here in our front yard is there because the water in the canal over to the right is so high it can't drain out.

The ditch here in the front of our place was almost ready to overflow.
Glad they dug out the dirt blocking that pipe through the cross-over.

They dug out the dirt that was blocking the pipe under that cross-over on the right above and the water started flowing again and the level began to drop FAST.  Darned good thing, too, because at 5 PM, despite the weather forecast predicting the end of the rain around 4 PM, it is POURING out there once more.

Check out the local radar at the moment:

Doesn't look to me like it's likely to stop anytime soon, that's for sure.   (We're just below Baton Rouge -- right there in the heavy rain portion.)  Good grief!  I may actually have to sleep INSIDE tonight!

**** 10:50 PM:  Well, it HAS stopped raining finally.  But according to the news tonight, we had 4 1/2" of rain today.

"Plenty."
