Torri convinced me that if Lizzie is ridden every day for a week, she will stop assuming she has a right to hang out in the pasture and graze full time! So . . . since Torri had plans tonight, I saddled up Lizzie and rode her for almost an hour myself. We didn't do much, and it took a good 15 minutes before she really began to listen, but at least she didn't feel the need to rear up and act completely wacko like she did on Sunday. We stayed in the round pen, though, because by the time she had settled down and started listening to me, everyone else had fed their horses and left for the night and I didn't want to take a chance on her getting out of control loose with no one around.
But tomorrow Torri will be back, so Lizzie will go back to real work. Excellent!

Lizzie sounds like she has a mind of her own and an attitude. Reminds me of Dusty. I think riding her as much as possible will make her realize she's not on vacation and needs to work whether she feels like it or not.
