Saturday . . .

I had every intention of trying out that saddle of Janet's today, but there was absolutely no one around over at the barn, so I decided to hold off until tomorrow.  Given how long it's been since either of them have been ridden, I'd feel a lot better if someone was around!  And so . . . I ended up going along after all to see an Andalusian horse with Janet this afternoon.  Wow!  He was absolutely gorgeous.  He had a prior injury to one leg that is making her hesitant, but seeing him loose in that huge arena was really great.  He's been kept in a stall for the last NINE YEARS, getting out only when he is ridden or shown so he was really happy to be turned loose for a while.  Poor guy!

She will be going back this week sometime with her trainer to see what he's like being ridden.  Of course he does have issues - one of which is that he is still a stallion at age 12 or 14 or so!  NOT a good thing.   But even so, he really is a sweet, sweet boy who actually listens pretty well.  And she does have the facilities to keep him separated from her other horses for as long as necessary after he's gelded, so . . .  we'll see what happens.    Pretty, pretty boy.
