Al seems to have reconsidered his anger at me. Hmm. I was never sure why he was mad to begin with, and I have no idea why he's over it now. But I'm grateful.
He always feeds everyone's horses early -- and I mean EARLY . . . like about 4:30 or 5 AM. So I left him a note last night to leave all ours in after feeding them this morning, I wanted to give them a few hours, then go put them out myself on my way to work so I could see if Duke and Bug had eaten that new hay I put out for them. Well, when I got there about 7:00, Al was still there in the barn. He's NEVER out there after about 6. And he started talking about the new hay and how Bug is putting weight on again, etc. etc. etc. as if he had never been so angry as to tell me to take my horses home!
Maybe he feels badly about how he acted. Or maybe he's just feeling enough better physically to be in a better mood. Whatever the reason, I am tremendously relieved, because I know our place won't be ready to bring them home before Mark is home in April. He's supposed to finish the perimeter fencing and paddocks this time off, but he will still need to do the stall interiors, and that will probably take some time. Anyway, it looks like we'll be okay until then.
Whew!
