The day started out a little "off" and has deteriorated from there. Didn't wake up until 10 AM so I immediately raced over to the barn and sure enough, when I got there all the horses were standing at the gate going "She's going to let us starve!" I went ahead and fed them all, then drove down to the feed store to pick up more feed, bedding, beet pulp and chopped alfalfa. Drove back to the barn and unloaded it and headed back to the house to feed the dogs. Walked into the bedroom and was greeted by this:
Joey, Joey, Joey . . . obviously MOST of those tiny little bits of plastic USED to be the TV remote -- no idea where those pieces of silver paper came from, though. Well -- at least he didn't swallow the batteries, although there are a LOT of pieces of that remote that are definitely missing.
Okay. So I stuffed Joey into his crate and cleaned up the mess all over the floor and fed everyone. Then as I headed upstairs to the office I smelled something really awful. Oh NO!
But, oh yes . . . Rocky got the runs and went on the rug in front of the fireplace -- which is now out by the road for the trash guys to pick up. (I didn't feel the need to photograph THAT . . . you're welcome.) Hope no one feels the need to take that rug home with them like they often do with stuff we put out for trash. (If they do it will no doubt cure them of THAT habit! Ick!) Thinking about it now, though, I think Rocky has some sort of sensitivity, oddly enough, to that food for "sensitive stomachs" that Niki used to have to eat. I had a full bag of the stuff left and it was about $40 a bag, so I mixed that in with two bags of their regular food last night. But now I think I remember Rocky having had that problem once before when he ate some of Niki's food. So . . . after I feed the horses tonight I guess I'll go back to the store and buy another bag of their regular dog food and feed the pure stuff to Rock from now on. (The others aren't affected at all by the Science Diet stuff so it must be a personal allergy or sensitivity of some sort on Rocky's part.)
So although I AM finally here at the computer at the moment, I still have to go feed the horses again, measure out food in their daily containers for the next couple weeks, and then go buy more dog food. It has NOT been a relaxing weekend so far. But hey -- maybe tomorrow . . .
