Once again, we have been having internet connection problems. We have Cox Cable and they came out last month and put in a repeater to raise the signal strength. What they SHOULD have done was determine why the signal strength had dropped off after all these years. And so - not surprisingly - we have continued to lose signal until we are once again offline at the house. They'll be back out tomorrow evening to see what they can do. In the meantime, the only access I have to the internet is here at work where I can't justify spending much time on the blog!
Let me tell you, though, that the fence posts for the perimeter horse fence have been almost entirely set in 3 feet of concrete each! We left the ones by the driveway gate uncemented until the gate arrives so they will be at exactly the right spacing. And we didn't dig holes for the paddock or the back dog yard because we weren't 100% certain what kinds of fence we would be using in those spaces. I've been pricing fence for the back yard and found that even 4-foot black chain link would run over $2700! So, given that we are going to have to have the bathroom and possibly part of the bedroom subfloor replaced due to a leak from our shower that has been running UNDER the flooring and has rotted the subfloor, I think I'm just going to have our old 6-foot chain link reset for the back yard for now. We have quite a bit of 6-foot commercial gauge fence (bought when we had Pete, plus another 150 feet or more - also commercial gauge - that Janet and Mike gave us when they moved into their new house where they didn't need it anymore. So we may think about replacing it with something more attractive down the road. But in the meantime, the dogs will have a large space to run and that's critical right now, given Joey's need for a lot of exercise.
So - more updates and some pictures tomorrow night. But right now . . . back to work.
