Strange morning

Woke up this morning to what I thought was the sound of rain.  But when I opened my eyes, the sun was shining in the window.  Hmm.  Must be hearing the ceiling fan or something, huh?  But no . . .  when I got up and looked outside, sure enough - the sun was shining through a hard rain!  As the morning wore on, it clouded over and the rain stopped.  Mother Nature seems to be a BIT confused about how that's supposed to work.
Guess you can't see the rain in these pictures, but trust me - it was definitely coming down!

Since it was raining, I decided to stay inside and do laundry today - and not a moment too soon, actually.  I barely got through last week before running out of clean work clothes.  So this morning I went in to start the laundry -- and found a whole rack full of clean clothes in there that I had hung up last time I did the wash, then forgot to move back to the closet!  Sigh.  Oh well -- between those and the ones I wash today I should be good to go for a good month or more!  Sometimes finding things I forgot about completely is a nice surprise -- at least once I get past the awful thought that my memory really IS deteriorating.

When I went over to feed the horses this morning, it looked to me like Lizzie might be starting to limp again but I'm not positive.  Don't know what could be causing it this time since she's not on grass and IS on loads of joint supplements.  But I cleaned her hooves and left her in the stall for the day.  I would have taken her out to the round pen to see for sure if she was limping or just a little ouchy from walking across the gravel from the paddock to the barn, but it was raining so we didn't do that.  She WAS just trimmed on Friday, so maybe she's just a little sensitive.  I hope that's all it is.

A long time ago I had a gelding that was always coming up lame. After spending a ton of money on vet bills, I called another vet. She told me my gelding had seedy toe, something that is quite common on sandy ground (we never had it in NY). Just something for you to think about.
