Here's Bug when I got over to the barn around 7 tonight. A little drainage, but way better than last night this time.
And here's how it looked after I got done flushing it and cleaning off the crust that had formed below her ear. Looking at these pictures, I see that there is still some crusty stuff there on the inside of her ear itself that should be cleaned off and ointment put on there, so I'll do that tomorrow. I'm sure that will help. They put that stuff clear up to the openings on things like feeding tubes and injury drains in people, so I'm sure it won't hurt to put it close to those openings in her ear.
She's definately getting better, because she's letting us flush her ear without throwing a hissy fit anymore. And she really seems to LIKE having her face and ear cleaned (because it itches, I think, and that ointment stops the itching).
She's still not eating like she normally does, though, so I put a few ground up horse treats on the top of her feed and she went back to eating. I didn't wait to see for sure if she ate it all, but she WAS still eating when I headed out.
I'm posting these pictures every day so the vet can see them without having to come by the barn - unless she sees something that she thinks needs her attention.
