While Wendy stayed at the hospital with Dad, I had lunch with my oldest friend, Cassandra Graham, today. That’s “oldest” in the sense that we have been friends since we were 19 years old -- NOT that she is older than dirt or anything like that! (Sorry, Cass!) Anyway – she is an incredibly talented artist. For years she specialized in wildlife oil paintings. I have a painting she did of a white heron flying across a dark Louisiana-type swamp scene that hangs in my office and gives me a wonderful sense of serenity when I really need it! I absolutely LOVE it.
Lately, however, she has moved on to beading. Of course with a talent like hers, she doesn’t JUST bead. Her creations are incredibly intricate and unique. Look at these

I love this one.
You can see more of her work on her web site,
Wilde Jewels
Check it out. Her stuff is amazing!
Today’s big news, though, is that she is about to open a new gallery! Like her old studio, this one will also be in Waynesville, Ohio. But it will be significantly larger than the Wilde Hare was. She plans to share the space with other types of artists so visitors will be able to enjoy a real variety. And of course, knowing her, I’m sure she'll have all sorts of other things going on around there like live music and classes and various novel activities. She hasn't given the new place a name yet. If anyone has a suggestion, she says if she uses your suggestion, she will give you a necklace or bracelet in payment!
I’m really excited for her. Can't wait to see the place.
Dad seems much better today. He is actually sleeping at the moment. Yeaa!! If they'll just let him sleep, maybe he will feel even better when he wakes up. Think I'll go barricade the door for a while!
