The dentist yesterday charged $3000 for three crowns. Good grief! I know it's been a while since I had a crown done, but I didn't think it had been THAT long! The price has doubled. (This is one time procrastination definitely did NOT pay!)
I've been trying to get all this medical/dental stuff done before time to retire, but at this rate, it may actually delay that retirement since I still need several more crowns done and so does Mark. Sigh.
Hey - you know what suddenly occurred to me? All this complaining I've been doing about the cost of things is actually proof that my life is just too darned comfy. Think about it. If I had any REAL problems, these expenses would have absolutely no significance. I think about how it might feel to be diagnosed with cancer. Or worse, how it would feel if something were to happen to someone in my family. Even now -- without having spent any time meditating about it -- those thoughts make me realize that I have absolutely nothing of any real significance to complain about in my life. So maybe now I can finally quit complaining about things for a while. (And all of you may be able to check out this blog again without finding it depressing!)

On that note . . . let me tell you that the weather here is once again GORGEOUS. It's in the 70's and sunny and beautiful. And Mark will be home tomorrow. Life IS good.
