Well, last weekend we finally got most of the master bedroom closet cleared out. We had PLANNED to clear out the entire upstairs library area, too, but that didn't happen. But it sure is great to have the closet in good use again finally! Whew! I've been telling myself to deal with that for more than a year! Well, okay -- let's just admit it . . . it's been a big mess for a several years! So now Mark's truck is full of "stuff" that's going to be hauled off to Good Will or Here Today, Gone Tomorrow.
Now I'm beginning to wonder who we can give all kinds of stuff sitting around in our office to (computer/TV/CD/DVD equipment). Probably wouldn't be all that good an idea to give that kind of thing to Good Will. A lot of it is completely unused so it might be good to just give it to some computer repair outfit. We have a huge (3 X 10 foot) desk in our office that is COVERED with all that stuff - not to mention all the things stored UNDER the table and inside the closet there in the office, as well. It would all probably be worth something, but if we hang onto it it's just going to gradually become less and less useful so we just need to forget about trying to sell it and just get it out of there NOW. SOMEONE ought to be able to use that stuff - I hope.
I had been thinking about replacing the sectional sofa in our living room with a couple of recliner love seats, too -- then we would have room for a couple of comfy chairs in there as well. But now that we have Gigi . . . well, better wait at LEAST another year to be sure nothing new gets eaten!!
Gave Gigi that big rubber ball she had been playing with a couple weeks back. She used to jump on it and roll over on it because she got her feet caught in it. But not anymore! Now when I throw it she picks it up and runs right back to me with it! She's suddenly tall enough NOT to trip over the thing. But that sure is giving her plenty of exercise now anyway. And I don't have to go get it myself to throw it again anymore! She just brings it back! Love that!
And since the weather has been decent for the last week or so, Mark went out yesterday and leveled out the paddocks really well -- although it can't be leveled right outside the stall doors until Jerry comes over this weekend to lift out those mats. The darned things are just way too heavy for Mark to handle alone. They're incredibly heavy to begin with, and now that they're covered in mud, well . . . need some help. Jerry also works with a guy who does concreting, so we'll be getting a bid on putting some areas of concrete in there, too. One for a walk from the porch to the barn, and another one for hosing down the horses so that the water will run OUT of the paddock instead of muddying up the whole place. As for the area directly around the barn, I'm not sure if we'll be putting in some concrete, or just leveling out the ground and then putting gravel and sand on top of it once those mats are removed. We definitely need to do SOMETHING, but who knows what!
Well, I only have to work for 2 hours after lunch this afternoon, then this afternoon we take Gigi to the vet for her last vaccination and then we go on over to the Blue Cross parking area for the first of the puppy training classes tonight at 6:30. SURE hope those classes are effective! Despite the fact that I've had multiple dogs all the time for the last 50 years, I REALLY need some help with Gigi, that's for sure!!
Anyway, given that I have only another couple hours to get everything done, I better get on with it! (I'll add some pictures to all this tomorrow.)
