Just got this photo from Mark.
The rig is currently coming into Galveston - they're obviously close enough that his cell phone works! Glad they decided NOT to send his rig out to deal with that leaking natural gas mess, as they were considering doing yesterday!
Now they'll be there in Galveston for the next I-don't-know-how-many months while his rig is completely renovated. And as long as it's there, there will be no long boat trips to get out to the rig -- so he can go back to work a lot later. And no long boat trips to come back ashore -- so he'll be home early. Life is good.
Oh - I asked why the picture was black and white, so he fixed his phone and had them take another one. ;-D
And now they're REALLY close to shore. (And he's obviously cheery!)
