When they get done with their shifts, the guys normally leave the rig just after midnight on a Tuesday night, then Mark usually gets home about noon on Wednesday. But they moved the rig this week and that has made changing shifts a serious hassle.
They had to take a 5 HOUR boat trip from the rig back to shore -- back to a DIFFERENT dock, of course.
And THEN they had to get on a bus and ride BACK over to Fourchon where they parked their cars when they went to work.
And now (after 4 PM) once he's gotten back to his car, it's going to take him another 2 or 3 hours to drive home from there. Whew!
He is going to be absolutely exhausted by the time he gets home tonight! But he'll be fine by tomorrow morning. (Good our company isn't coming until the weekend, though.)
