Quite a week --

David has been working like crazy trying to get everything done that he needs to do before he moves up to Ashville.  This is his last week before the move!  He's gotten those new drawers built and put in place, and got a first coat of green paint on there to match them to the rest of the kitchen.  And he finally got baseboards re-installed in the utility room.  They were removed, let's see . . . several YEARS ago when the washing machine overflowed and flooded most of the downstairs.  They had removed them and drilled multiple holes in the bottom of the sheetrock to let the interior of the walls dry out (and I THINK that's where mice have been coming in from time to time ever since then!  Sure glad THAT's been taken care of).

Then today David said he would be starting to build those dutch doors for the stalls.  Sure hope he gets those done before he leaves so we won't have a problem closing the horses inside when storms come up this year.

Once he's completely done with the kitchen, I'm going to go ahead and schedule the countertop installation.  I'm hoping to get that done before Vickie and John come down the end of May.

Oh -- I got a note yesterday from our mortgage bank about changing out our house payments from once a month to every two weeks.  That was supposed to shorten the payment period by a year or so.  So I asked them to go ahead and change it to every two weeks, but also to add an extra $250 to each payment as well. The house WAS going to be paid off exactly 10 years from next month.  Now it'll be paid off in November of 2019.  Much better.  Of course if I retire prior to that time, we will no doubt go ahead and just pay the thing off then, but if I DO decide to keep on working, that way we would actually get it paid off without losing any of our 401(k) savings to do it.  Can't hurt to give it a shot!

I'm planning to head home early today so we can go get dirt to fill in all those raised planter beds David built months ago.  Jan and Mike have several camelias that their landscape guy planted in their front yard that aren't doing well in the full sun so they're going to dig them up and give them to us (yeaaa!).  So we need to go ahead and get those planter beds filled in (finally!) so we can go pick those up tomorrow and get them planted.  Virtually ALL of our planters are in partial to full shade, so those camelias should be happy there, I hope.  Then once those are in place, we will get around to digging up the ones in the bed by our front porch and get those moved over to the raised beds as well -- eventually.   ;-D   It's just too darned hard to keep that front bed weeded.  Once they're out of there, we can just keep the thing sprayed with plant killer all the time.  Hey -- whatever is easiest -- and that's it as far as we can tell.

Okay.  Back to work.
