I'm not doing much at all today, and I REALLY hope Buddy and Lisa are relaxing at home today as well. They sure deserve to kick back a lot more than I do, that's for sure!
On Friday, Buddy ran a trencher from the main water line in the middle of the front yard clear across the yard and back to the paddock fence line, then over to the interior barn wall, then another trench directly from the barn to the house for an underground electric line. And the last 6 feet on both ends of both trenches had to be dug with a shovel because the trencher wouldn't get any closer to a wall. Running the trencher was bad enough, but digging with a shovel? . . . yuk!
Then on Saturday, Mark and Buddy put in the water line and ran the underground electric wire, then Buddy filled all those trenches back in again. Looooong day.
This is looking from the main water line over to the barn - AFTER if got filled in again. |
The water line runs under the gate and then over to the barn. The electric line runs in front of the fence. |
That whole last 6 feet or so had to be dug by hand because the trencher wouldn't get near enough to the wall. |
Poor Buddy - here he is just finishing up filling in the trench. He looks like it's a darned good thing he's done! |
Like I said - I SURE hope he has nothing whatsoever to do all day today! |
And while Buddy was dealing with the trenches, Lisa was dealing with my filthy house. She even changed out all the pot lights for me. MUCH better! |
As for me, I am doing absolutely nothing today except checking on Lizzie now and then. She seems to be completely back to normal, thank goodness! But I still feel like I need to go look regularly.
And Duke, of course, is fine -- despite that poison ivy and those tree branches he had as snacks yesterday.
