For the second time, an item I ordered online is shown on the web site as having been delivered when it was not. Now, it's true - I order a LOT of things online. And several things have been delivered to me over the last week. But this particular item was NOT one of them. For the second time.
So I wrote down the tracking number on that order from the Amazon site and called the post office. They said they could not track it because it was a UPS shipment - even though UPS dumps almost everything at the post office and the post office is generally the one who delivers them.
But okay. So I called UPS in Gonzales. Nope. Unless an item was shipped FROM there, they can't track it. I needed to call national UPS at their 800 number.
Deep breath. Okay. So I called UPS. They told me that they had dropped it off at the post office for delivery (really? no kidding?) so I would have to check with the post office! I was about to get REALLY pissed, but then she said she would give me the POST OFFICE tracking number (different from the UPS tracking number). Sigh. Okay.
So I wrote down the 22-digit tracking number and called the post office back. They said they would check with the delivery guy and get back to me. When they got back to me, they said he told them he delivered it and put it on the chair on the front porch. Well - he DID deliver something to the chair on the front porch, but he delivered it on Saturday, not Friday, and it was a big box (shoes) and NOT the small missing box. So I gritted my teeth and informed them of that and they said they would talk with him again and get back to me.
In the meantime I am concentrating on taking deep calming breaths so I will be able to talk with them when they call again without the use of any 4-letter words.
We'll see.
