Mid-week

Well, Joey was supposed to go to therapy again today.  Supposed to.  But he was also supposed to get his meds last night at midnight.  Unfortunately, I crashed in front of the TV and he didn't end up getting them until almost 4 AM!  So I left him at home today and went home at noon to give him his meds and his lunch.  I didn't want to stick Jennifer with doing all that at therapy.  I'm sure she has more than enough to do without having to add that in.  I thought he would be going back there on Friday, but she's going to be out of town at a conference of some sort and won't be back until a week from tomorrow, I think she said, so he won't be going again until a week from Friday.  On Monday he's due to have his stitches removed and be examined by the ortho folks at 1:30 so if I can't drop him off at therapy in the morning, I'm not sure HOW the heck I'm going to manage that.  I guess I'll come to work in the morning, then go get him at lunch and take a really looooong lunch.  Anyway, with his stitches coming out on Monday, maybe by Friday he'll be ready to get back on that water treadmill.  I know he'll be happy if he can.  Jennifer said he was apparently disappointed not to have been able to do that when he went to therapy last Monday -- he spent the afternoon whining about it in his cage.  Poor guy.  I'm sure the initial exercise will be a VERY slow short walk rather than that super-fast 45 minute walk that he WAS doing before the surgery.  But we'll both be happy when he can start doing any sort of REAL exercises again so he can get back to a normal walk eventually.   (He's still not walking on that leg since last Sunday so I'll be interested to hear what the orthopedic folks have to say about that when they do a quick recheck Monday when they remove his stitches.)

Got an surprise e-mail from Dale and Shirley this morning - they finally found the perfect house!  And IT IS GORGEOUS !!  Their closing is scheduled for mid-September so the holidays this year at their new place should be truly amazing.  I can't wait to see the house for real, but here are some photos from the real estate listing.  (Cass, it's only a few miles from your place!)

LOVE that back porch/sunroom.  And I love that the garage is on the side, not the front.  (Would have been a fine thing for US, given the mess in OUR garage!)

Really nice PRIVATE back yard - nice!

Looks like the other houses in the neighborhood are really nice as well!

Look at the wonderful view from the eat-in kitchen area.

Terrific office.

There's that terrific porch from the inside.

I absolutely LOVE this porch!

Wow - and a TV out there, too!

That porch is beautiful from outside, too.

Can you BELIEVE the size of that garage????  They should be able to store an amazing number of boxes in there until they get the house in order and STILL have room to actually park a car or two!

And it even has nice cabinets in the GARAGE!
They're in the process of having it inspected.  Hope all goes well with that because it sure looks like the perfect place to me!
