Well, at least I got to say "Good morning" to Mark this morning! But he'll be gone again by the time I get home tonight. His own rig is currently out of service, so the company "loaned" him to a working rig with a missing maintenance supervisor. He left his regular rig last night, then drove home by about 6 this morning. But then he'll be heading down to Fouchon about 2 this afternoon to take a boat out to that working rig for a week. They WERE going to stick him out there for two weeks and just pay him for an extra week of work, but he managed to convince them that he needed to come home at his regular time, so at least he'll be home next week as scheduled - although he WILL get home a day later than usual. Phooey.
As for me, I'm going to try and get to bed tonight before 9 since I have to be over at Pennington at 7 AM tomorrow for that DEXA study - which means I'll have to get up at 5 in order to get everyone fed in time to make it over there by then! I was diagnosed with osteoporosis back in the late 90's and was on meds for that from then until last year when they discovered that people who took Fosamax for more than 5 or 10 years (which I definitely did) were having femurs just break spontaneously! Frightening! Here's one of the news reports on that. And here is a medical journal article.
My last bone scan a year or so ago did show that I don't currently have an osteo problem. But the Pennington DEXA study is much more detailed, so I'll be very interested to see what it shows about the condition of my bones.

But thank heaven there's only one more work day after tomorrow before the weekend because I'm going to be REALLY ready to sleep in by Saturday for sure!
Dropped Joey off at therapy this morning and left them a note to say that he hasn't been using his back left leg (off and on) over the last two days. That hasn't been true for almost a year now! Not sure what could have caused that regression. That boy just seems to have SOME sort of problem constantly. (Although his skin does look better today at least. I haven't done a thing to it, it just seems to have improved on its own.) If I didn't know better, I'd swear those problems of his were psychological! They seem to come and go all on their own -- no matter what I do or do NOT do about them! I got him that medicated shampoo on Monday, but his skin has improved WITHOUT the shampoo and without the antibiotics he was taking (we took him off of those two days ago). Now the limping is back, but it seems to come and go as well -- although I guess that could just be because it hurts more or less at any given time, I guess.
Well, it'll be interesting to see what they say about that when I pick him up from therapy this afternoon.
