Heading out

I was forced to come in to work this morning, but I'm headed out to a BRPA luncheon, then going on home.  Our vet and one of the equine surgeons from LSU are scheduled to come to the house at 1:30 this afternoon.  They're going to anesthetize Ladybug and deal with her ear abscess, as well as check out Lizzie's skin problems and ear crud.  Lizzie does NOT need to be sedated.  As long you're paying attention to her -- regardless of WHAT you're doing -- she's happy.

She also seems to be VERY happy with her new accommodations.  When she was at Al's she was by far the sloppiest of the three horses when in a stall.  But now at home where she can come and go from her stall as she pleases, she goes out and makes her messes along the fence line next to the dog yard (which drives Joey absolutely CRAZY), then goes back inside her "room" and just stands around there chewing on hay and peering out her back door.  I checked on them a couple times overnight last night (their first night home) and she was always inside the barn.  She's been given the stall with the covered porch (so Duke can be in the stall between Lizzie and Bug - that works better), and Lizzie also seems to really enjoy standing outside under that porch.

I've managed to misplace my camera (AGAIN) so no pictures unfortunately.  Sigh.  Maybe later.

Anyway, I'm off to lunch, then home for the vets.
