Vickie and John left earlier for Opelousas. I just came back from the barn after cleaning out stalls and filling hay nets and hay holders and feeding everyone a nice warm breakfast (their feed, with alfalfa and hot beet pulp, mixed with nice hot water).
I was expecting a fairly warmish day today, but in fact it's in the very low 40's with off-and-on sprinkles of rain. Bad for riding, EXCELLENT for napping. I didn't bundle up the horses yet this morning, but if that cold front continues to drop the temperature I'll head back over to the barn in a little while and put their blankets on them all. In the meantime, although it isn't even noon yet, I think I WILL take a nice nap!
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope your life is somewhere close to as happy as mine is.
